As for more energy throughout your day (a good Testosterone supplement will help with this too) try supplementing with a Green SuperFood Drink here or checkout the #1 superfood drink Detox Organics – my full review here . I’ll take 1-2 servings per day of a this or another superfood supplement. I’ve been able to stop drinking coffee and cut down any kind of caffeine supplements almost entirely with a natural superfood supplement. It’s a much cleaner energy too as they nourish your adrenals rather than fatiguing them, helping you to lower stress levels and uplift your overall mood.

Hello Lara, Thanks for the extensive info on PCOS. I find few websites and practitioners have as much experience and clarity about women’s health issues. I started Zinc gluconate (30mg daily) for high T and PCOS with high hopes. However I started bleeding every week and then went on to have a full period at the date it was expected. I was already getting regular periods after starting T3 treatment for a year prior (34 yrs old). I never had regular periods before T3; cycle length was 70-90 days. What should I make of this? I believe Zn was helping me because I noticed benefits in my hair texture which has turned extremely coiled and unmanageable due to high T, plus hirsutism/acne showed small improvements. Don’t know what to make of the bleeding. I also have low cortisol and DHEA. This disease has robbed me of my youth and enthusiasm. Have lost all hope.

Testosterone is significantly correlated with aggression and competitive behaviour and is directly facilitated by the latter. There are two theories on the role of testosterone in aggression and competition. [78] The first one is the challenge hypothesis which states that testosterone would increase during puberty thus facilitating reproductive and competitive behaviour which would include aggression. [78] Thus it is the challenge of competition among males of the species that facilitates aggression and violence. [78] Studies conducted have found direct correlation between testosterone and dominance especially among the most violent criminals in prison who had the highest testosterone levels. [78] The same research also found fathers (those outside competitive environments) had the lowest testosterone levels compared to other males. [78]

My thoughts on flax are that it clearly reduces the risk of prostate cancer, and can even slow the progression of existing prostate cancer. It also has well known cholesterol-lowering properties. It also probably does lower testosterone levels, at least in humans, but not very much. In rats, there does not appear to be any testosterone lowering:
A) https:///pubmed/10722886 — study in rats showing that offspring of rats fed flaxseed during pregnancy had INCREASES in both testosterone and sperm production.
B) https:///pubmed/22943974 — study of rats fed with diet containing flaxseed showed increased concentrations of 17β-estradiol but no changes in testosterone concentrations.
